Meant to post this last night!
Happy 4th Everyone!!!
Hope everyone has a safe and wonderful 4th of July. I've already had my fair share of grilled food! And yes, I love the smell of fireworks in the morning!
As we stand here looking
At the flags upon these graves
Know these flags represent
A few of the true American brave
They fought for their Country
As man has through all of time
Except that these soldiers lying here
Fought for your country and mine
As we all are gathered here
To pay them our respect
Let's pass this word to others
It's what they would expect
I'm sure that they would do it
If it were me or you
To show we did not die in vein
But for the red, white and blue.
Let's pass on to our children
And to those who never knew
What these soldiers died for
It's the least we can do
Let's not forget their families
Great pain they had to bear
Losing a son, father or husband
They need to know we still care
No matter which war was fought
On the day that they died
I stand here looking at these flags
Filled with American pride.
So as the bugler plays out Taps
With its sweet and eerie sound
Pray for these soldiers lying here
In this sacred, hallowed ground.
Take home with you a sense of pride
You were here Memorial Day.
Celebrating the way Americans should
On this solemnest of days.
A man was blissfully driving along the highway, when he saw the
Easter Bunny hopping across the middle of the road. He swerved to avoid
hitting the Bunny, but unfortunately the rabbit jumped in front of his car
and was hit. The basket of eggs went flying all over the place. Candy, too.
The driver, being a sensitive man as well as an animal lover, pulled
over to the side of the road, and got out to see what had become of
the Bunny carrying the basket. Much to his dismay, the colorful Bunny was dead.
The driver felt guilty and began to cry.
A woman driving down the same highway saw the man crying on the side
of the road and pulled over. She stepped out of her car and asked the
man what was wrong.
"I feel terrible," he explained, "I accidentally hit the Easter Bunny
and killed it. What should I do?"
The woman told the man not to worry. She knew exactly what to do. She
went to her car trunk, and pulled out a spray can. She walked over to
the limp, dead Bunny, and sprayed the entire contents of the can
onto the little furry animal.
Miraculously the Easter Bunny came to back life, jumped up, picked up
the spilled eggs and candy, waved its paw at the two humans and
hopped on down the road. 50 yards away the Easter Bunny stopped, turned
around, waved and hopped on down the road another 50 yards, turned, waved,
hopped another 50 yards and waved again!!!!
The man was astonished. He said to the woman, "What in heaven's name
is in your spray can?" The woman turned the can around so that the man
could read the label. It said:
"Hair spray. Restores life to dead hair. Adds permanent wave."
Where everyone is a little bit Irish today.
"New Year's Day… now is the accepted time to make your regular annual good resolutions. Next week you can begin paving hell with them as usual."

Roses are reddish
Violets are bluish
If it weren't for Christmas
We'd all be Jewish.

Happy Holidays!!!
Memorial Day: While it started as a way to honor those who died fighting in the Civil War, it was later opened up to honor Americans who died fighting in any war. Do not spend today thinking about whether or not we should be involved in any conflicts past or present. Instead, please respect those who gave their lives for our country.
Thank you to those who sacrificed it all for us. Thank you to those who serve our country.
While we traditionally celebrate today with cookouts, here are some of the more honorable tributes that take place:
Decorating Arlington National Cemetery
"Since the late 50's on the Thursday before Memorial Day, the 1,200
soldiers of the 3d U.S. Infantry place small American flags at each of
the more than 260,000 gravestones at Arlington National Cemetery. They
then patrol 24 hours a day during the weekend to ensure that each flag
remains standing."
"On the Saturday before the observed day for Memorial Day, the Boys Scouts and Girl Scouts place a candle at each of approximately 15,300 grave sites of soldiers buried at Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania National Military Park on Marye's Heights."
Rolling Thunder - Honoring The Lost, POWs and MIAs
"The Rolling Thunder motorcycle legion observes Memorial Day, with its annual parade from the Pentagon to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington. The celebration has, after 20 years, become a fixture of Memorial Day weekend in the nation’s capitol."
