Thank Goodness for this service. Ever since I've ditched my land line, I have had the hardest time finding my cell phone. I had to send multiple text messages from my pc to here the thing beep (not fun)
Dear Verizon...
I really want to like you. As you primary job, to provide me a cell phone signal when I need it, you rank a 9 out of 10. However, your practice to nickel and dime me annoys the crap out of me. The cherry on the parfait, your staff at my local store is horrible. I do not frequent there often...perhaps twice a year. Yet, each time I do go, I never have a positive experience. When I've visited other Verizon stores (in Columbus), I've been fortunate to interact with intelligent and nice staff. Ninety-nine percent of the time when I call your 800# for help, I've always had great service. I just don't know why I can be treated with respect at my local store. Your website here lately has annoyed me, as well as your automated phone service. I just want to add a feature to my plan. Why are you making it so hard for me to give you more money??
On a similar note, I'm thinking about getting the new Chocolate (LG VX 8550). I welcome anyone's opinion on this phone. I have a 80 gig 5.5 video ipod, so this wouldn't be my primary MP3 player. I've read on-line that you can load your MP3s onto the memory card, but the guy at my local store was persistent in telling me that they must use their software to convert it to a DRM'ed WMA file. I like the size and looks of this phone. I'm also looking at the LG enV (VX900), but I hate the silver and I'm not sure about the orange. I have 5 or 6 digital cameras, so the 2 megapixel camera isn't going to sway me. I do like the flip out keyboard, but it's bigger and bulkier than my current phone - Motorola E815. Oh...why I'm on my soapbox, Motorola, your iTAP system sucks.
End of rant....
Yes...Philips of all people, gets smart and adds a rechargeable AAA battery to boost talk time when the main battery goes dead. "Philips and partner Energizer say the extra battery can provide up to three hours of added talk time." I know that the uber-thin phones are the craze, but I hope this concept is the next big thing.
