Loathe:
- Piddling away the morning. Especially when it's my day off.
- Not being at a beach. It's cold and misty outside.
- Creepy people. Sorry if I sound judgmental, but there's a bunch huddled around a big table, here at the coffee shop. They're kinda spooky looking
- An overcooked steak. (Oh it breaks my heart)
- Buying a song and become sick of it after 4 plays.
- Wanting to buys a song off of iTunes or Amazon and it's an "album only" track.
- Forgetting yesterday was Monday - I'm actually watching NFL this year and forgot about Monday Night Football.
- This book I'm reading - A Savage Place by Robert B. Parker. It's taking me till Chapter 18 to finally get into it.
- That some of my friends were laid off last Friday.
- That I've become addicted to Facebook. (Still better than crack)
Love:
- Making the best of it. Yes, it's cold and gray outside. Perfect weather to camp at the coffee shop with a good book.
- College Football. This is probably the most I've watched. I normally just watch my Buckeye's play "Tressle Ball" and that's it. Watching all kinds of great games this season.
- The season opener for NCIS. Thought it was pretty solid.
- My Boss' sense of humor. I'm glad he has one. It's probably why I'm still employed. (If not getting fired, quit)
- I'm grateful that I'm employed.
- Halloween is around the corner. Bring on the monster flics!
- Cleaning out one of my closets and filling up a 30 gallon trash bag worth of crap (God, I have a lot of crap)
- Lifting. I just started up again. Yes, I'm in misery, but it's a good pain. I just need to make it a habit.
- Shaving using shaving soap and brush. I normally don't mess with it during the summer, but I've gotten back in the groove again. I just need to get a better brush (on that doesn't shed).
On a scale of 1 to 10, how well do you sing?
Remember William Hung from American Idol. I'm just a shade better than that. Just a shade.
What is the best purchase you've ever made?
The one I use the most, my 80 gig video ipod. Hands down.
Loathe:
- Being in a bad mood. Have been for a while and I can't shake it. I should clarify - I'm only in a bad mood at work.
- Not having any plans yet for next week's shutdown.
- Need more distractions outside of work.
- Been missing my Dad..a lot.
Love:
- Carmel Apples from Goumas Candyland.
- Honey Crisp apples.
- Fall is near.
- My Vox and Facebook friends.
- Thankful to be more precise, that I'm not in any major debt.
- In theory...that we will get our 5% pay cut, re-instated come January. Still no matching 401K, but it's a start.
- Finding my Dad's old Arkansas sharpening stone. One word - memories. I used to watch in aw as a little kid, watching my Dad sharpening his hunting knife.
- That my car no longer makes a pinging noise when it's cold (bad heat shield for intermediate shaft - um..yeah).
Found this over at Laughing Squid.
"Ben Wiggins shot a beautiful time-lapse video of San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area over the summer using a Canon 5D Mark II."
Take five minutes and watch it!
If you have 10 minutes, you should check out and listen to this story from NPR on how Toyota runs it's company in Toyota City, Japan and their business practices. Personally, I found this extremely interesting since I work for an automotive company (ArvinMeritor), and the plant I work at has a UAW Union (myself - I'm salary). Right, wrong or indifferent, Toyota is a much stronger company than most.
Here's the link that takes you to the story - http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=104095238
If you could have personally witnessed one event in history, which one would you want to have seen?
Landing on the Moon!!
Loathe:
- People who take up two parking spaces.
- Meijers Self-Checkout lanes. (It didn't like my yogurt containers, all fifteen of them).
- Farting away my three day weekend.
Love:
- The steak I cooked out on the grill yesterday.
- Triscuits - Fire Roasted Tomato and Olive Oil.
- Grinding my teeth at night.
What computer accessories and peripherals can't you live without?
Sponsored by WePC.com. Help us make your Dream PC a reality.1) My iPod...hands down.
2) A close second - Digital Photography. I'm not going to tell you how much I spent on developing my film!
3) Wireless internet. Sad but true. I serious doubt I would be on as much as I am if it weren't for wireless.
4) And not really a computer accessory, but in the same spirit - my GPS.
